Experience
I tutor students from grades 6-12 in history and middle school mathematics. As a teacher, I enjoy the subjects I cover, which I feel helps present activities and lessons with more passion and energy. I try to bring this to each and every student. After all, it's much easier for one to remember and be self-motivated if they're interested and engaged. Everyone has their own way of learning. I can find what a student likes or not, and adapt my teaching style to his or her preferences. This also enhances their learning experience. In 2012, I graduated SUNY Albany with a B.A. in history and, in 2014, completed graduate school with a Master of Arts in Teaching: Social Studies with Honors. I'm always looking to sharpen my skills as a hard-working educator. While student teaching, I instructed in 7th grade U.S. history and 12th grade economics. I also taught my own class in 9th grade global history, serving as a leave replacement, and have taught as a substitute many times. I think learning can be an interesting experience for both the student and the teacher.Outside of the classroom, I have a personal interest in history, global issues, and science and enjoy sports.
